Potbelly stove with chimney for garage or pantry
A potbelly stove from the simplest types of stoves that are used to heat rooms, including garages, pantries, cottages. They make it from a variety of materials at hand. At the same time, they most often use such a set of tools: a welding machine; grinder; a brush for metal; a hammer; pliers chisel; punch; a drill; instruments for measuring and marking.
There are several varieties of bourgeois. But they all have the same layout. Their designs are represented by: a chamber for the furnace, in which fuel is burned; grate located at the bottom of the furnace; an ashpit or a blower located below the furnace, collecting fuel combustion products, supplying air to the furnace; smoke exhaust pipe.
Often the top part is supplemented with a hob, equipped with a tank in which water is heated. Stationarily located stoves are often lined around the perimeter of the furnace with a brick that can withstand strong heating. This extends the life of the oven.
A potbelly stove is easy to turn into a long burning furnace. To do this, metal plates (2 pieces) are welded in the upper part, above the firebox, preventing the rapid release of hot gases into the chimney. This simple solution increases the heat transfer from the stove.
A potbelly stove for a garage can be made by taking a flask as a basis, which used to be often used as a container for delivering vegetable oil, milk, and ice cream. She has a cylindrical main part, a slightly narrowed throat, closed with a large lid. The latter will be the door, which simplifies the creation of the device as it excludes the work on its separate manufacture.
The container is placed sideways, while the lid-door should open horizontally. From above along the axis and on the sides of it, holes of a centimeter diameter are drilled in rows. Thus, the bottom of the future furnace is turned into a kind of grate.
A box with a back wall and an open front part is welded on the same side of the container. The latter can be closed by arranging a door specially. Its presence improves the operating conditions of the potbelly stove, as it allows you to regulate the flow of oxygen (air) into the furnace. As a result, an ashpit is obtained, which will collect combustion waste. Legs are welded along the edges of the ash pan.
The converted flask is turned over, put on its legs. In the back, on top, a round hole is cut out. A short piece of pipe is welded around its perimeter. They put a chimney on it, which serves to remove smoke.
In the upper part of the container, in front of the chimney, you can make a hob. For this, several metal rods are welded horizontally to the body.
Made potbelly stove test on the street. If everything goes fine, then they place it inside the garage, the end of the chimney is led out through the wall to the street.
